One of my passions in life is to help young adults learn to love to read independently. I know not everyone loves to read, as a matter of fact, many young people actually would prefer to do something other than read a book... like say, take a bike ride, play a video game, drive slivers underneath their fingernails… you get the picture. Reading does not have to be torture. As a matter of fact, finding a good book that you connect to can be one of the most enjoyable experiences imaginable. Yes, it’s true… reading *can* be fun!
Your first blog assignment is to reply to this post. Tell me what the top three books you’ve read in the past year are. Why are these books your favorite? List the titles and authors of the three books you’ve loved and please avoid using books from the same series.
**Hint: I'm looking for a four paragraph response-
Two sentence opening: How do you feel about reading? List three books you have enjoyed and the author’s names in a complete sentence.
Write one brief paragraph per book- describe what the book was about in one sentence. In another sentence, explain what you liked about the book.
Write an at least one-sentence closing.
