Dear new 6th grader in my opinion after the first week you get used to it and it doesn’t seem as hard it actually feels like you can do anything. My favorite part of pcms was the jogathon it was so fun because we got to have a barbecue at the end the worst part of school is the day when the fire happened but that has to do with school the worst part was listening to some of mr Palmers really bad jokes but some of them are really funny. something I wished that I had known before school started is that mr Palmer is secretly Batman and that Mrs behlke is so funny.

Sencirly Katie former student of pcms
Hey Mrs behlke I was board so here you go I never get homework at my new school which sucks so now I am doing this.

Dear future PCMS 6th grader,
I know you will have a great time at PCMS! One way to be successful here is to always try your best and never give up. Some classes may be hard, if you try your best the teachers notice, and can help you if you need help. My favorite part of the year was Halloween! We had a competition for the best costume, a pie eating contest, and I think we played capture the flag. It was really fun. The most challenging part of my 6th grade year was when we did a weather unit in Science. I did not fully understand it. Before I came to PCMS I wish I knew that for the first quarter of school we have electives, but only electives with Mr. Reid or Mr. Faith. I know you will have a great time at PCMS, it is the best school ever.

Dear future sixth grade students, you guys will love this school for these reasons. Reason number one is the food. The food is great because it's not regular school lunch. Another reason is the teachers. The teachers are great because they help you with everything they can. Those are the reasons why this school is great.

Dear Future Sixth grade students,
I really think you will enjoy this school. I recommend to work things when you really do not want to do it. The most challenging things for me were probably the essays. But I think you will have a lot of fun doing the other things. Just make sure you try your best on every assignment and I think you will be fine.

Dear future PCMS student,

I am so excited that you got into PCMS, the school is really great, you will have a good time. I am writing this letter as a six grader, you might know me as a 7th or 8th grader. I came here when the year was almost done, like ¾ of the year was gone for me. I came here because of the Camp Fire, My school that I was going to shut down. After the Camp Fire I got selected to go to this school. I started coming here and really loved it, and I am hoping that you would love it too.

Sincerely,
Larsen Cooper

Dear 6th grader,
The first thing you should know is PCMS, in my opinion is a five-star school. There is going to be a lot of drama going around, but your in middle school now and you just have to expect it, and ignore it. Also don’t worry if you don’t make friends the first day, you will most likely make better friends this year than you've had in your 5 years of elementary school and if your thinking “Pff, what does she think shes saying?” I promise it's true, I would have never thought I’d make friends with some people Im friends with now. One more thing, don’t talk about people behind their backs because they will most likely hear it from someone and turn it against you. One last thing, If you’re used to wearing crop tops and booty shorts you may want to change that, don’t worry you don't have to wear baggy turtle necks and very unflattering sweats, but you may want to consider some finger length shorts and below belly button shirts. Good luck with 6th grade and enjoy every minute of it. Oh, and the caught ya’s in Mrs. Behlke’s don't get any more enjoyable.
Sincerely, Grace Townsend

Dear Future PCMS 6th Grader I hope you have an amazing time in PCMS your first year. PCMS is an amazing school. To be successful in PCMS you need to obey the few rules they have, do you homework, and do your best. You will make some amazing memories here at PCMS. Here is one of mine. Everyday when I would walk into Mr.Palmer's class he would tell me a funny but stupid dad joke. He also has the energy of a three year old. One of the most challenging parts of the school year is the DBQ, which is a data based questions. Something that I wish I knew before was that all of the teachers are amazing and that they want to help you through school, not make it harder. Future PCMS 6th Grader I hope that this letter helps you, and that you will have an amazing school year.

Dear future PCMS 6th grader,

My name is Ethan Dixon, and I have some advice for you: Don’t listen to Mr. Palmer’s jokes, no matter how curious you may be. Never let Khan Academy frustrate you, no matter how frustrating it is. If Mr. Palmer throws something and it hits you, don’t throw it back, I know from experience. DO YOUR CAUGHT YA’!!!!! If Mr. Blaschke gets angry at you, don’t get angry back, I know from experience. At the edge of the black top, there is a little hill, then there are the picnic tables. DON’T RUN DOWN THAT HILL!!!!! I know from experience. On the field after if rains, it always gets muddy right next to the gravel path. Now you haft to choose a side: gravel path or grass.
My favorite part of the year has to be the Maroo project presentation. The most challenging part of the year was probably not listening to Palmer's jokes. No matter how curious you are, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM!!!!!

P.S. Don't listen to anything I said.

Dear future PCMS sixth grader you are going to have a lot of fun here but you are gonna find people who are mean to you also. The best way to avoid doing that is by not making fun of anybody and messing around much I am not very good at either of those but just try to do that. Because then you will have a lot of friends and with more friends school is more fun. In my first week I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do because I quit school for 4 years. With all that being said I hope you have a Great year!

Hi new student, my name is Evan Shoemaker and I’m going to tell you about things that might help you out during the year. So for starters, don’t be disruptive and definitely don’t use your phone during class, you’ll get in a lot of trouble. Also try to work your hardest to get the best grades you can, you’ll get through sixth grade just fine if you do that. :)

Dear future sixth grader, all you have to do to be successful is be corepotive in group work. Also, your going to like Mrs.Behlke as a teacher. Mr.Palmer tells the best dad jokes in the world his math is fun. Mr. Blaschke gives lots of group work and gives lots of fun projects. Also Mr.Miduno is one of your P.E. he is nice and the stretches that he does help. Also, it helps if you do your homework and keep up your grades up in all the classes. Lastly, one of my challenges were my DBQ.

Dear future 6th grader, You will love you're 6th grade year! You're 6th grade year is full of fun projects and fun events. PCMS is not an ordinary charter school, this school is very creative and unique and when the teachers are teaching you they do it in a fun way. All of the advice that I can give you for your 6th grade year is have respect towards others and always be you and try you're very best. My favorite part of 6th grade was when we got to make our own town or place but that was my favorite because it was very creative. The worst part of 6th grade in my opinion is probably P.E. Before I came to PCMS I was wishing that I would fit in easily and I did but throughout my 6th grade year I learned that it's ok to be different just as long as you're always you and don't pretend to be someone you're not.

Dear future sixth grader,
I think that you are going to have a great year in sixth grade. Let me share with ya little bit about what I did in sixth grade. In english we did caught ya’ which is like a grammar corrector. In History we learned about rome and greece and the wars they fought. Then, at the end of the year we do thing called greek day and that’s great. In Math you’ll learn about a whole bunch of different things but I think my favorite thing that we learned was histograms.(You’ll learn what that is) In science we learned about the Earth’s history and that’s what caught my attention. I love Earth history. To be successful you just have to try your hardest and pay attention in class. At the beginning of the year i was nervous about how hard the work was going to be and if I was able to get help. You are able to get help as needed you just have to clarify what you need help with. It is super easy to ask for help because they understand how hard the work is. Now that it is the end of the year, I wish that I could stay in sixth grade forever. It was such a great year. I wish that the whole class could stay together for the next three years. I had a great time in sixth grade and I think that you will also have an amazing sixth grade at PCMS.

Dear Future PCMS 6th Grader,
Here is some advice of how to get through 6th grade. First, don’t get behind on work. Second, don’t get on Mr.Baschke bad side. Third make new friends. My favorite part of the year was the food before the fire happened. The food was so good. The most challenging part of my year was that my parents signed me up for so many things. Basketball, flag football, trumpet, and choir. I also went to Wyldlife in Mr. Palmer’s classroom. That’s all I think you need to know.

Dear future sixth-graders,
I know how it feels to be at this new school, trust me, it feels like it was yesterday. I was scared, I thought I was going to get lost and it would be really hard to make friends. Now I see how wrong I was. PCMS is a lot harder to get lost than I thought. I stuck with my friends from my old school for the first week, it made it an easier transition, but it is truly easy to make new friends here, no matter who you are. The “wise” words I have for you is try your hardest because all the teachers will push you to, be yourself and no one else, be active, mentally and physically. I know it might be scary but be excited. You’re about to be part of a whole new family, PCMS, because the best part is the friends you make here, the family.

Yours Truly,
Madison Vannucci

Dear new sixth graders,
If you want to succeed in Pcms, you just have to try the hardest that you can. If you try the hardest that you can, and know that you put your best work into it, then you will succeed. Don’t think that Mr.Palmer’s jokes are bad because they are good. Do your homework and turn it in. The homework isnt that hard and you can easily finish it in before you need to turn it in, and if your to lazy to do your homework then your grades will drop.

Dear future PCMS sixth grader,
Hi. I’m Natalie you might know me if I am still at this school (BTW I’m the cool one, not Violet). PCMS is a great school. If you want to do good in all your classes I suggest listening and trying your best. All of the teachers give you clear instructions, just follow those carefully and do your best to show your work. My favorite part of the year was Halloween. On Halloween you get dress up as whoever you want and you get to play games all day. It is interesting to see everybody's costumes. My most challenging part of the year was when Mrs. Behlke gave us like 50 outlines in a row. Every time we finished one we would have another one to write. Good luck with that. Before I started this school year I wish I knew of the importance of the virtues Mr. Reed talks about at flag. Clearly, you are going to love sixth grade at PCMS.

Even though some clases pack to much work for any human being to do in class, don't stress, you'll be ok. When I first got a big assignment on greece I was scared out of my mind, but i just took time out of class here and there and it was all ok. Dear Future PCMS 6th Grader,
here is what I wished I knew before I came to PCMS. First of all I wish I knew just how awesome Midder P or Mr.Palmer truly is.
Second of all I wish I knew about the first quarter’s “electives” where you can only just be in one of two groups. The first one is Mr. Faith’s and the second is Mr. Reid.
The last thing I wish i knew about is that we have caught ya! Which is a daily thing where you rewrite a little thing and fix all the mistakes.
Anyways I hope you have a great school year with not a lot of drama and stuff.

Dear 6th grade students, this is your first time at this school. There are some things you should know about this school and what you might find later in the school year.
First thing I wish I done was to get to know the teachers. All of them are super nice and smart, they know different subjects and love helping people out. The teachers’ names are Amy Behlke, Chris Palmer, Mike Blasche, Yvette Kolstad, and Brian Faith. You won’t have Faith or Kolstad until 7th grade but I still encourage that you chat with them.
Another thing you should know is the two groups and the electives. The groups are A group and B group. If you’re in A group you go to math, science, break, english, then history. Butt if you’re in B group you go to english, history, break, math, then science. After your fourth period (fourth subject) you go lunch and then to P.E. Both classes go to P.E. After P.E. people go to their chosen elective. Around the start of school kids pick their three favorite elective. The electives are Academic Lab, Model Building, Art, Game Room, and Robotics throughout the whole year, but in my opinion you should try Academic Lab.
Throughout the school year I have had challenges but also laid back projects. One thing that was stressed me out and made me work for hours at home was a project at the start of the school year. It was hard because I had to make a news paper talking about the book called Maroo. The most laid back thing in a project was the book projects. There are multiple book projects that are assigned throughout the school year and Ms. Behlke does the book project in different ways. It’s easy because if you just spend a hour each day on it the project would be finished really early.
I hope everyone has a good time at P.C.M.S. and it was not as bad as my year (our whole town burned down so that sucked). One last thing I can say is that this letter is my blog. The blog is a weekly assignment that everyone gets. It’s mostly for helping you write and use good grammar.

-Ty

Dear Future 6th grader,
Hi future 6th grade student! Here is some good advice for you to survive sixth grade. Whatever you do, just don’t be scared and go for this! There is always something out there for you. As much you just wanna go home, just think you are on Planet Earth for some reason. If your a girl, and you don’t like following dress code...just don’t go near Mrs. Behlke, and Mrs. Kolstad, if you are around them, then just play it cool. If you are a guy, just know your VERY lucky that you can wear pretty much whatever you want and not get dress coded. Now I’m gonna talk a little bit about the teachers. First is Mr. Palmer, he is very crazy, loud, and obnoxious. Everyone calls Mr. Palmer Mitter P, and Mr. Palmer comes up with really weird stories. When ever Mr. Palmer gets frustrated, he throws his markers or something. Also just to let you know, back off because Phleuphie is taken by Ella Lawrie. Phleuphie and Ella are married. Second is Mr. Balashke, the entire year when ever we learned, we did Earth Science related stuff. Although, one day all we did was watch wallace and gromit, and Shaun the Sheep the entire class period. Third is Mrs. Behlke, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! She makes English and History really fun and just awesome. Next is P.E., in P.E. the teachers ate Mr. Palmer, and Mr. Maduno are the P.E. teachers. Mr. Maduno is nice, and he’ll push you to do things, he’ll push your limits.

Sincerely,
Caitrin Cassing

Dear Future PCMS Students,

Welcome to PCMS, you may be thinking that this will be just like any old school but you will wonderfully be mistaken. It is a great school that feels more like a family, you will have friends and you will have less friendly friends, but we are all one. Some advice is a saying by one of my favorite old shows it is to,”take chances, make mistakes, and get messy”. In this school you should take chances, you need to take chances to find new friends, or to take chances in academics. You need to make mistakes, if you don’t you won’t learn new things. And finally you need to get messy, later on in the year you will be doing a lot of stuff that requires you to get messy just remember that you shouldn’t be afraid to get a little dirty.

Dear future PCMS 6th graders,
Welcome to PCMS! I’m glad you got into our little school. If I could give you any advice, my advice would be don’t be shy or scared to come here. I was scared before I came and once I got here I saw so many people I knew and everyone was so nice. The only thing I wish I knew before I came is middle school has a lot of drama no matter what school. Just don’t get lost in the sauce and keep your grades up, don’t get involved in the drama and don’t fight over dumb things like instagram followers or who’s better friends with who (I’ve made that mistake). If you ever need any advice or have any questions, you can ask me, if I still go here next year. Have a great time at PCMS!!

Dear Future PCMS 6th Graders
What you can do to be successful is work your hardest and never miss a day of school because u can get you behind a lot. Also you can be organised with the work you are given. A couple of things that are my favorite most challenging of the year is the DBQ and the book projects. A few things I would like to know before I came to PCMS was that you had blogs every week and that you have like 4 days to work on your DBQ. To all 6th graders I hope your happy with being apart of the PCMS family.( I'm not going to be here for 7th grade but i'll still come visit you, hope you have fun <3 )

Dear future PCMS 6th grader,
Next year at PCMS you will have so much fun! All the teachers are very kind and they don’t give out homework most of the time. My favorite part of the school year was when we went to Shady Creek Science Camp. At Shady Creek we went on nature hikes, and even though we learned a lot at Shady Creek, it was also very fun. Now I will tell you what you should probably know before school starts. Don’t be nervous and talk to the teachers if you need help. School might seem too hard at first but you will get used to it. I hope you have a good school year!

Dear Future 6th Graders,
Welcome to PCMS, this is a wonderful school that I hope you excel at.

My advice for you is to do your best even when you feel you are the only one. My advice regarding the teachers is to always LISTEN. Things move very fast at this school, and the teachers aren’t going to always take you step by step. Always be COACHABLE. At this school you have to be coachable. This means you have to be okay with constructive criticism. Another tip I would give you is to be reasonable. What I mean by this is, you can be funny, or make people laugh. But, you have to reign it in when the teacher wants you to stop.

My favorite thing about 6th grade at PCMS was hanging out with my friends. I have made many new friends this year, and it has been a lot of fun. I have a feeling you guys will have a awesome time at Shady Creek Outdoor School, (though ours took an unexpected turn.)

The most challenging part of this year was the Campfire. I am sure most all of you know that the town of paradise burned down in 2018. This was challenging for me because my world was turned upside-down. However, I am so glad PCMS is back up in Paradise and normal again.

I hope all of you have a great time at PCMS as new 6th graders.

Dear future PCMS 6th Grader,
If you are like me and were debating to go to a different school because all your friends went to a different school, then you picked the right school to got to. When I started at this school I was bummed that almost none of my friends from 5th grade were going to Pint, but then I made some amazing new friends and surprisingly am still in touch with the old ones! One thing I wish I knew before I started at PCMS is how bad Mr. Palmers jokes are, seriously, they are so good, but so bad at the same time. A tip from me is, do NOT wait until the last minute to do your work (I did that with this, it’s hard). The most hard part of the year was the end(and the fire), but not because if testing. It’s the hardest part of the year because I have to leave everyone, I’ve known a lot of these people almost all my life, and having to leave them is hard. My favorite part of the year was definitely Greek Day, it was really fun! I hope all of you have as much of a great time here as I did! Have fun at PCMS!

Dear future PCMS student,
Some advice that I can give you is DO NOT make Mr. Faith or Mr. Blaschke mad, work hard in Mrs. Behlke’s class and pay attention to what Mr. Palmer says. My favorite part of the school year was halloween because there are crazy homemade costumes. The most challenging part of the year was the Tuck Everlasting book project. If you finish all of your stuff for Tuck Everlasting you get to watch the movie, but if you don’t you have to do all of it in another room if you want to watch the movie. Something that I wish I knew before I went to PCMS is that you don’t need a locker.

Dear future sixth grader,
You will be successful if you are always on task and if you are always listening to directions. My favorite memory is when Mr. Palmer told us to not date until your older. The most challenging thing was when everyone got sick at shady creek. I wish I knew more science related stuff before I went to PCMS.
