Dear future Pcms sixth grader, to be successful you have to focus on what the teacher is saying. I think that if you pay enough attention to teachers you will understand more, get more work done, and not have to take your break to work on homework. Another way to be successful is to ask for help from your teachers when you need it, don´t fall farther behind more than you already are. The most challenging part of the year for me personally was waking up every morning and getting ready. It is difficult for me to get up because I am SO TIRED! I wish I knew that it was going to be a decent year, I was really worried. I wish I knew that there would be ups and downs this year. I hope whoever is reading this will have a great sixth grade year, good luck!

Dear Future 6th grader (s),
I wouldn’t say there’s a whole bunch you need to know about coming into your sixth grade year but here's a few things I would tell you. First, grades matter! Put hard work into every assignment you do because it will pay off in the long run. Plus, you get awarded for it and it looks better on Aeries ;). Next, start making friends as soon as possible! It doesn’t matter if you don’t know very many people at the beginning but you might make some life long friends and memories. You might hear about the Posse, you might not but that is a great example of a lifelong friendship. Third, go to the dances. Even if you don’t want to dance with anybody just go. If you don’t you’re just missing out on one big party. Fourth, only have the essentials in your backpack or else it will feel like fifty pounds on your back. Lastly, don’t wait until the last minute to do your work because that will put you in the worst place ever! Don’t wait until 11:59pm on the day it’s due to finish up and turn it in. There's a lot of other things I could tell you about but those are my number one recommendations. You’re going to learn to love, if not already, school because PCMS isn’t just a place to learn. It’s a place where you’ll make memories that will last forever. Be involved and ask your questions. Oh and one last thing, Mr. Palmers hilarious!! -sorry Mrs. Behlke lol. Have a great year, enjoy it while it lasts!

Sincerely, Grace Meldrum

Dear Future PCMS 6TH grader, To be successful do your homework whenever you can because you don't want to be talking to Mr. Palmer during lunch when you can be hanging out side with your friends. Don't be nervous to walk up to people and say hi and if they want to be friends. My hardest part of the year was waking up so early and getting ready. At the start of the year I wished someone told me it was easy and it really was just pay attention to the teacher. .p.s. GOOD LUCK.

Dear 6th graders. pcms is the best Google I've ever been to, and I think it will be for you to. Some advice that I have for you is to ask for help when you need it because everyone is willing to help. when I ever needed help I asked and it helped me out a lot during the year.My favorite part in the year was probably the dances even though you might not want to go to them you should because they're not what you expect. The most challenging parts for me where towards the beginning of winter break when I didn't really want to focus but I needed to focus going to be hard but once you get through you have a hole 3 or 2 weeks of vacation from school. The one thing I wished I knew before coming to the school would probably be nobody judges you and you can ask questions or do something weird or funny and not get judged I'm not super cool.

Dear future Pcms 6th grader,
to be successful at PCMS you have to pay attention. You can’t talk to your friends in the middle of class because that's disrespectful and you will miss the stuff the teacher is saying. My favorite part of the year was the middle even though it was the hardest part of the year it was so much fun because I got to know my teachers better and got to know new friends. The most challenging parts of the year were the essays, they were hard to write and took lots of time. What I wish I knew before coming to PCMS was don’t argue with anybody especially the teachers because they know what they are doing and just have a fun time with your friends don’t argue with them because you can lose friends. P.S GOOD LUCK!!!

Dear future pcms 6th grader,

The best advice I might give would be do all of the homework you can as soon as you can. I know that doesn't sound like fun but you’ll be happy you listened. Sometimes teachers can post new assignments in the middle of the week so like I said it’s good to already have most of it done. No one expects perfection. But a good way to get close is break down an assignment. What I mean by that is to turn one big assignment into several small ones. When there's an assignment in English I would pick one topic per paragragh. Trust me there will be a lot in English. I hope you do well.

Dear Future PCMS Sixth Grader, I'm not the type of person to give advice but I’ll do it this time. Don’t do what I did. What I did was miss 2 weeks of school then I fell behind and then quarantine hit and I got even more behind. I wasn’t motivated to do any work and look at me now trying to finish over 10 missing assignments on the 2nd to last week of school. Don’t fall behind it will stab you in the back. Another thing is yeah I know you probably don’t wanna be at school but some of these things you need to learn to get into college, work a good paying job, etc. Listen to the teacher and try not to zone out during class. I did that a lot. I wished I knew how hard 6th grade was gonna be before I went into it. Welp that's all, have fun at PCMS!

Dear Future Pcms 6th grader’s
There is not much you need to know about Pcms but there are a few things I would like to tell you. First, Make friends, you don’t need to know anybody there, you just need to make friends. You need to make friends as soon as possible! Next keep your grades up if you do not keep them up you will hear about it from all the teachers and you will have to stay in at break or at lunch to do your schoolwork. Third, go to the dances if you do not have anyone to go with you can just go there alone it is no big deal just hang out with the rest of the kids you know and say hi and make some friends. There is one more Mr. Palmer is hilarious!! I hope you have a great school year at Pcms p.s. It is the best school I have ever gone to.

What do future students need to know during their first year at PCMS. Well one of the things they need to know is to make sure they get everything due on time so they don't have their score reduced. They should expect something to happen because always something big happens like a fire or a sickness. The last thing they really need to know is definitely don't stare at Mr. Blaschke's beard but also don't joke around in any classes. That is everything they need to know for their first year at PCMS.

Dear future PCMS sixth grader,
To be successful you will need to do your homework always because if you miss one assignment your grade will go from an A to a B. Also you need to check aeries a lot because if you have any missing assignments you need to do them. Next if you are struggling in any subject there is a after school kind of like a tooter program and after school you can go to any of them any day but Friday. Lastly you need to try really hard in Mrs. Behlkes class because it is much harder to get good grades in her class than all of the other teachers classes. Have a good day and Good Luck.

Dear future PCMS sixth graders,
This first year of middle school will probably be the hardest. You will have to figure out how things work and figure out how to be successful. It might feel like school starting over because everything is different, but there is something important for you to know. You are not alone. All the new kids will be feeling the same way. Even though you might lose some friends, this would be the perfect time to make new friends. Something else you should know is that all the teachers are really nice and if you follow their rules you’ll be just fine. I hope that all of you coming to this school for sixth grade have a wonderful year and are very successful.

Dear future Pcms 6th grader, if you want to be successful here you gotta work, if anything is missing it’ll just build up and will take forever to finish. Most of the homework is by far harder than Elementary School homework. I like Middle School better because you're not stuck with a single teacher for 6 hours a day. On the first day you’ll start meeting people and making friend groups. It’s kinda scary on the first day but within a week you’ll be fine. Every once in a while you should check Aeries to see if you have any missing assignments. If you forget the password I usually will just email Mrs. Behlke.

Dear future pcms 6th grade, the thing that you can do to be successful is to do all of your work and home work and turn it in so you can have good grades and try to get ahead. I really hope your 6th grade year is like mine because is was the hardest thing I have ever done. Hope you have a good year.

Hello there new sixth-grader,
I hope you are doing well with your brand new pair of clothes to show off at school! Looking good! Being in a new school is sometimes frightening but you’ll make friends. One crucial thing you need to keep an eye on is your image/personality because you need a good image to not let people misunderstand you or think differently of you. I also have another tip, be positive because I wasn’t and the outcome was horrendous so be very posotive and don’t let nervousness take you like me. Another thing to keep in mind is to spread out work throughout the week because it’s impossible for you to do it all in one day. Don’t let work overwhelm you. Also don’t die on the first week, you can on the rest of the school just not on the first week so once it’s over you can die, okay? Good luck on making friends because it can be tough especially in sixth grade because the people you are with can influence other people’s image of you. Also if you get popular that’s really rare because, me, a little smart asian kid was not popular at all so look good I guess. Good luck through sixth grade!

Dear 6th graders,
I bet a lot of you are nervios well at least I was. You're going to a new school with new teachers and friends! Pcms is an amazing school. You can be whoever you want to be. All the teachers are loving and supportive of everyone. I have to tell you this before Mrs. Behlke does 6th grade is going to be the best year in middle school and I'm telling you that even when I didn’t get to experience everything that hopefully you will. My advice is have fun and make as many memories as you can hang out with everyone from the 7th graders to the 8th graders even the teachers! be a little wild you don’t always have to be on task I mean what fun is that make funny faces at your best friend get in trouble sometimes. Let me tell you don’t get on Mr. Palmers bad side he is funny and an amazing Math teacher just try to do all of your homework you don’t want to stay inside that's for sure. You may want to fall asleep in Mr. Blaschke because sometimes he talks a lot but try not to he will embarrass you. I've had it done before wasn’t too much fun but you learn to love him. I hope that everyday you wake up to go to school that you will be excited to go and maybe you’ll like what you're learning. Good luck!!

Dear future 6th grade. this year was a challenging one for me and my fellow class mates. But, we made it through together and we are moving on to better days. My only advice for you as a student in Mrs. Behlke class is that you work hard, and also ask for help. the teachers at this school are so wonderful and you will learn so much as student and you will strive. The important thing to remember is that letter grade dont really mean a whole just as long as you try your very best. they will see that and give you all the help you need. this is your one and only opportunity to be treated like a grown up the teachers do not treat you like little kids any more and that makes middle school soo much better. I wont say its the best but its a close second. Good luck next year and have a great summer.

Dear future Pcms students
I am glad that those people who are reading this are here at Pcms. Trust me reader, this school teaches you like knowone has before. I am proud to say that this school teaches you until you get it, like history for insintinc, I didn't know that much ancient history when I came into Pcms. I thought I wasn't going to do good in history, but Mrs. Behlke makes it so much fun so now one has to worry. That goes with all the other grades (I'm going to name all your teachers so you don't get lost and call them the wrong name, I learned the hard way.) Mr Palmer Math, Mr. Blaschke Science, and finally Mrs. Behlke English-History. You know when you are in 6th grade like right now, I bet you are going to have the best time, and remember it is normal to feel nervous, for I have felt nervous when I was reading 7th grade letters.

P.S Can wait to see you in seventh grade.

Dear future PCMS 6th grader,

PCMS is the best school i've been to so far, but there are a lot of things you need to know before coming into 6th grade, if you know a lot of people that are good you won't be as nervous. Make sure and get good grades. It will help you later on in the year, and put a lot of effort into your assignments. Pay attention in class, and DO NOT get behind on work. There's a lot of work and it won't help if you have to make up assignments. I wish i would have known that the teachers expect alot from you. My most challenging part of the year was the essays from Mrs. Behlke.

Dear Future PCMS Sixth Graders,

My name is Alaina. I have enjoyed a great year here at PCMS, and I’m sure you will, too.
When I first got here, I was really worried about finding my classes and if my teachers were going to be nice, but I had nothing to worry about. The teachers showed us the way to our next classes, and everyone was really nice. My advise is to pay attention to the teachers, and to keep track of your assignments. Having a planner or things written down on a schedule helps.
PCMS does a lot of really amazing things. Every day you meet in the quad for a flag ceremony with the whole school. Everyone sings you happy birthday when it’s your day. The teachers are kind and quirky and funny, and each one has their own awesome way of teaching. You will go on some great field trips, and will probably even get to tie dye your own shirt. Elective changes a few times every year, and lots of neat things are offered.
Have a fantastic year, sixth graders!

My favorite part about the school is that they are forgiving but also strict. The hardest part is to turn your stuff in on time. I wish I knew more people at the beginning of school.

Dear future sixth graders,
Pcms is by far the best school I have been to and I hope that you will grow to love Pcms because it is an awesome school. Some advice I have is to try to socialize and talk to people that might be outside of your friend group or in a different grade because it’s good to get to know everybody since Pcms is so small. Also, you should keep your grades up and turn in ALL your work because if you don’t, you will constantly have teachers on you about it and you will end up having to spend your break and lunch doing your missing work. I found that it was hard to understand a new type of work schedule towards the beginning of the year but eventually I grew used to it. Before sixth grade started, I wish I knew that Mr. Palmer was so crazy. He may have bad jokes but he is super fun to be around as long as you don’t make him mad. Success is easy as long as you work towards it and try your best to succeed. I learned that checking Aeries daily and talking to my teachers about any missing work helped towards my grades. It was tough finishing sixth grade in quarantine and I hope you future sixth graders will have it much easier.

Welcome all incoming sixth graders, the best advice I can give you is do all your school work on time every day of every week. If you are struggling, always ask your teachers for help. My favorite thing here was hanging out with my friends. The most challenging part of pcms was the covid-19 quarantine online learning.

Dear Feature PCMS 6th Grader,

To be successful in 6th grade make sure none of your asimat are late because you don't what to have to get yelled at by Mr. Palmer and have to stay in for lunch and if you keep your grade up you get an award. You should always show up to tutorial to get your work done and if you don't understand something the teachers will help you. If you start to struggle in a subject you should show up to morning tutorial so then they can show you exactly how to do something. Try not to start an asimat at 11:30 and turn it in at 11:58 because all of the estimates are due at 11:59. Try to make friends as soon as possible. Try to show up to the school dances even if you don't want to dance with anyone because everyone will be talking about it on Monday. One last thing Mr. Palmers dad jokes are horrible but Mr. Palmer is funny. And last but not least have a great year and good luck.

Dear PCMS six graders, PCMS is challenging but it’s a really good school. You should not be nervous when you get there on your first day because you will make lots of friends. The teachers are funny, they support you, and help you. What you can do to become successful is take one step at a time, and follow through. My most challenging part of the year would be when big assignments come, and it feels like you will never ever finish them, but if you slow down, you realize it isn’t actually that hard. And also another challenge for me was patience. This can be challenging because you want to race ahead, and finish, but if you have paitence then you will slow down and finish challengings things well. My favorite parts of the year are making friends, and doing fun things. What I wished before starting the school year here is not to be nervous, and doubtful. I hope you have an awesome year. Dear future 6th grader,
My sixth grade year was easier than I thought it would be here, I thought starting this year at a new school would be scary. One reason I liked it here was that I had friends here but there is always a chance to make new friends. My advice to you is to make friends with Mr. Palmer and Mrs. Behlke because they are the funniest. My favorite part of the year was the halloween parade because it was very fun and I got to see everyone in their costumes and I dressed up as Khris Davis from the A´s. The most challenging part for me was having to do school online because of the virus. Hopefully you won't have to do online school too. I wish I knew that PCMS would be totally different than elementary school. I'm sure you will do great here!

Dear Future 6th Graders,

I’m not going to lie, going into 6th grade was scary because I didn’t know if the teachers were going to like me even though I've known them for a long time. I also wasn’t sure if most of my friends were going to go to PCMS because I stopped keeping in touch with them. I think the best way to be successful is by always asking questions about the work you're confused with even when you're too nervous to ask for help. I would also say to be successful you need to communicate with your teachers. You should also not get on the bad side of teachers because if you're on the bad side of your teachers the whole year won’t be as fun. Always laugh at Mr. Palmer's jokes even if they aren't funny and always know that he’ll always be there for you. If you're struggling in school just know that the teachers are always there to talk to and they’ll help you be successful. My favorite part of the year was getting to learn new stuff and whenever the whole school did an activity together. I also really liked when we got to see baby goats. I think the most challenging part for me this year was knowing that my best friend and I weren’t going to be going to the same school next year and how little of a time I had left with her. Before starting the year I wished I knew to appreciate the times you have with your friends and to not care about what other people think of you. I would have also wanted to know that I shouldn’t stress about the little things and school is important but having fun is also important so get in trouble for the first time, do something you’ll always remember.

Dear Future PCMS 6th grader,

I want to start off simple, I hope you have a great time next year at pcms. It has been one of the best school years ever for me. It would have been the best, but you know corona. It is an amazing school with amazing teachers. My advice is to at least try doing flag in the morning and or in the afternoon, it’s really fun. My favorite part of the year was during cross country. And my least favorite part of the year was definitely the entire time we were doing corona school. Hope you have a great sixth-grade year.

Dear future pcms sixth grader,
I hope you have a great year. I hope you don’t have to deal with a pandemic like we did. I hope you love all the teachers. I think one thing you should do is go to the dances their super fun and I hope you love them as much as I loved them. Also, I hope you have an amazing year with tones of fun and surprises. Something I wish I would have know that is to listen very well on the beginning because I got distracted for the slightest second a class and it totally screwed me up. For the first week because later on in the week the teacher was telling us to open a the website, and they didn’t exactly say which website to open all they said was open what you opened from the yesterday. And of course I didn’t here what website to go to and I was to nervous to ask what website it was because I thought I would get in trouble because I didn’t know and of course the next couple of weeks later the teacher was walking around the class and they saw I wasn’t on that screen. And, asked me to get on it and I said I didn’t know where to go and of course I got in trouble because I had been on the wrong screen for the past few weeks. And, instead of saying I didn’t know where to I said nothing so speak up and always listen very very very well.
